Council is progressing works for the Swan Terrace Local Area Traffic Management project.

As part of Council's Local Area Traffic Management project, we're improving safety for people walking, driving and riding. We've reviewed feedback from community consultation and recent traffic data and are now progressing works.

As part of these works, we will be:

  • painting a threshold treatment on Swan Terrace at Northey Street
  • installing a splitter island and painting a threshold treatment on Swan Terrace at Newmarket Road
  • painting line marking, including yellow ‘No Stopping’ lines.

Works will take place from early May to early June 2025, between 7pm to 5am, Sunday to Thursday, weather and site conditions permitting.

These works are required to be undertaken at night when traffic volumes are lowest, to ensure the safety of workers and road users and to minimise disruption.

If you live in or are travelling through the area, you may notice:

  • increased noise, dust, vibration and vehicles
  • changed traffic conditions, including footpath and lane closures, and reduced speed limits
  • traffic controllers and signage onsite.

On-street parking in the project area will not be available while construction is underway.
