Planned Burn Karawatha Forest
A planned burn is scheduled to take place at Karawatha Forest between Wallaby Track, Rocks Track, Banksia Trail, Entolasia Trail and Brushtail Track on Monday 30 March, weather permitting.
The burn will start at approximately 9am and continue into the early evening.
Smoke may impact local residences and settle in surrounding suburbs overnight.
Surrounding tracks will be closed for the duration of the burn and may remain closed for up to two weeks after the burn.
Brisbane City Council staff will be on site for the duration of the planned burn to ensure the safety of the area.
Staff will also be on site on Sunday to ensure the safety of the area.
Council planned burns are conducted in a manner sensitive to the welfare of wildlife in the area and are conducted only in suitable weather conditions.
