Discover Brisbane's top restaurants and the best spots to eat, drink and celebrate with family, colleagues and friends. These destinations will make you fall in love with Brisbane's food scene all over again.

1. South/City/SQ: Foodie's paradise

South/City/SQ is Brisbane’s newest hub, offering everything from gourmet meals to tasty street food.

Check out Sasso Italiano where homely trattoria food meets mid-century cool. Try South City Wine, where classic food and wine pairings will transport you back to the decadence of Europe.

For something more low-key, enjoy food from food trucks that gather monthly in the square. With live tunes setting the mood, it’s great way to kick back and enjoy some street food specialties.

Couple walking through South City Square at Woolloongabba.

2. Fish Lane: Artistic flavours and culinary delights

Fish Lane is renowned for its eye-catching street art, celebrating both international and local artists. Keep an eye out for the light boxes featuring artists from our Outdoor Gallery program.

Fish Lane offers unique dining, including Euro-style Maeve, kiosk Kiki, and authentic Italian at Julius Pizzeria. A perfect blend for food and culture enthusiasts we’d say.

3. Howard Smith Wharves: Riverfront dining

If Howard Smith Wharves hasn’t made your list, what are you waiting for?

With epic views of the Brisbane River, city skyline and Story Bridge, this riverfront gem is a must-try. Gather your crew for share plate dining. Enjoy Greek mezes at Greca, izakaya plates at Yoko, or dim sum at Stanley.

As the sun sets, enjoy signature cocktails and an extensive wine list at Mr Percival’s overwater bar.

Don't miss our Outdoor Gallery projections. They light up the cliffs after dark and bring the precinct alive. To round out the evening, hop on one of our CityCats for a chilled ride back along the river.

4. West Village: Eat, drink, celebrate

If you’re a foodie, West Village needs to be on your radar.

Satisfy your taste buds with fresh, bold Thai flavours at Vela, Asian fusion at Zazu, or classic Greek at Yamas. Ippin offers top-notch sushi. For special occasions, Rich and Rare serves up a contemporary steak and seafood experience.

No matter the occasion, the restaurants at West Village make every bite feel like a celebration.

5. Fortitude Valley: Foodie adventures

For those days when you don’t know what you feel like, Fortitude Valley is the place to go!

Brunswick Street, Chinatown Malls, and nearby laneways offer countless eateries. Let your cravings guide the way. Choose from Biang Biang Fresh Noodles, Thai at Short Grain, or Colombian at La Arepa Brava.

Keep an eye out for the Art Deco-inspired You Are My Sunshine light installation in Beirne Lane. It celebrates Fortitude Valley’s past.

6. James Street: Buzz-worthy

James Street is one of Brisbane’s favourite lifestyle precincts, packed with delicious eateries and classic boutiques.

Settle in for a long lunch. Enjoy Thai banquets at sAme sAme, authentic Italian at Gemelli, or Lebanese dishes at The Green.

For the feel of a European supper club, Penelope's classic bistro menu will delight.

Craving something quick and tasty? Stop by Sunshine for hot or cold Mediterranean dishes, all ready to go.

7. Suburban gems

Dining in Brisbane's suburbs is only getting better.

Leafy Racecourse Road has a smorgasbord of dining options from Hosokawa's delicious sushi to Sarni for a classic sandwich.

If you're looking for something further afield, Manly's waterside Olivera offers laid-back dining with water views. This spot is perfect for a weekend adventure.
