Brisbane City Council runs free electric bus loops that make exploring the CBD easy without a car. These bus services can connect you to all your favourite spots in and around Brisbane's city centre.

City Loop

Running every 10 minutes from Monday Friday (7am-6pm), the City Loop will take you to Brisbane City's iconic sites. Stops include Brisbane City Hall, City Botanic Gardens, Queen Street Mall and more. The loop service has a clockwise (route 40) and an anti-clockwise route (route 50). You can easily spot City Loop buses and stops by their distinct purple colour.

The City Loop is great for:

  • shopping on Queen Street Mall
  • getting to your favourite places to eat and drink.

Spring Hill Loop

Accessibility and amenities

All loop buses are fully accessible. They have low floors, boarding ramps, and spaces for wheelchairs or mobility devices. They are air conditioned and electric, making travel comfortable and environmentally friendly.

We don't allow pets on loop buses, but registered assistance animals are welcome.

Connecting with other public transport

The loop services are designed to integrate easily with Brisbane’s wider transport network. They connect to trains at Central and Roma Street stations. They also link with ferries, CityCats and other bus routes across the city.

The loop services connect with Brisbane Metro, making it easy to transfer to frequent routes around the city.

Do I need a go card to catch a free loop bus?

No! You can simply hop onto the loop bus and hop off at your stop.
