Shorncliffe Foreshore, Shorncliffe

A bayside classic blending heritage charm with expansive bay views. Go for a walk, bike ride or scoot around the foreshore, stroll the historic pier, relax under the shady trees and enjoy the playground at Lower Moora Park

Boondall Wetlands, Boondall

This peaceful reserve is a haven for birdlife in spring. Boardwalks and trails lead through mangroves and open forest, offering a quiet, nature-rich picnic setting for families. Set time aside to visit the Boondall Wetlands Environment Centre, where kids can play and learn about local wildlife using interactive displays. 

Highgate Hill Park, Highgate Hill

A favourite for sunset lovers, this hilltop park has sweeping views over the Brisbane River and CBD. Bring cushions and snacks for a romantic twilight picnic. The park is also easy to get to by bus, making for a seamless night out!

Toohey Forest and Mount Gravatt Lookout, Nathan and Mount Gravatt

Just 10 minutes from the CBD is Toohey Forest – shady eucalyptus, wildflowers and an easy escape into nature perfect for short scenic walks before settling in for lunch. There are 2 picnic areas with barbecues and plenty of bushwalking tracks and even bouldering.

Why not end the perfect day at the nearby Mount Gravatt Lookout for a sprawling view of the city and out to the Moreton Bay Islands.

Kangaroo Point Cliffs Park, Kangaroo Point

Wynnum Esplanade, Wynnum

Cool sea breezes, coastal paths and a historic wading pool for the kids makes the Wynnum Aqua Park a family favourite. The springtime light over Moreton Bay at George Clayton Park and neighbouring Drevesen Park is also perfect for photos. 

Jindalee Boat Ramp Park, Jindalee

A spacious riverside park ideal for games and group gatherings. In late afternoon, the sun sparkles on the water for a picture-perfect picnic backdrop. 

Sherwood Arboretum, Sherwood
