Council is offering a fully funded visual merchandising training program for eligible retailers located within Brisbane’s Local Government Area.

About the program

In 2026, Brisbane City Council is giving retail businesses the opportunity to develop their visual merchandising approach with expert-led guidance and interactive learning and support.

Program benefits

This program is designed to:

  • support retail businesses through knowledge and practical skills development
  • balance teaching theory with hands-on, interactive learning activities with practical outcomes
  • equip you with the necessary resources, tools and templates to implement learnings in your business. This includes resources like our Shops that shine - Guide to visual merchandising.

Program commitments

To participate in this program, you agree to meet the following commitments.

  1. Finish one online program module (2-3 hours) so Mon + Co Agency can get to know you and your business.
  2. Attend one in-person, day-long masterclass in one of 2 locations. This will allow you to meet with industry experts to workshop how visual merchandising can assist with business growth.
  3. Update the online program module with updated images and testimonial to document your learnings.
  4. Attend one online follow-up support discussion (45 minutes) to talk through implementation wins and challenges.

Eligibility criteria 

To be eligible to apply for this program, your business must:

be located in the Brisbane Local Government Area (LGA).

Available

have a current and active ABN/ACN.

Available

be located in a retail precinct.

Preference will be given to independent businesses rather than franchises.

You are ineligible to apply for this program if your business:

Unavailable

is wholly or partly owned or managed by federal, state or local government.

Unavailable

is owned or managed by an employee or contractor of Brisbane City Council.

Unavailable

operates solely from a home residence.

Unavailable

is located in an area that is not retail focused.

Unavailable

your business is located in a large shopping centre complex.
