WasteSMART Brisbane Awards

Brisbane City Council developed the WasteSMART Brisbane Awards to recognise and celebrate the achievements of residents and groups who work together for a clean and green city. Council has partnered with Brisbane Sustainability Agency to deliver the awards.

Nominations now open

Nominations for the 2022 WasteSMART Brisbane Awards opened on Monday 11 July and close on Saturday 3 September 2022.

There are nine award categories including a new All-star Award recognising long-term commitment to waste prevention and reduction.  The are a total of 12 awards and a prize pool worth over $4000. The categories are:

  • Councillors WasteSMART Choice Award
  • Brisbane WasteSMART Champions Award
  • WasteSMART Community Award
  • WasteSMART Business Award
  • WasteSMART Early Learning Award
  • WasteSMART Schools Award
  • Outstanding WasteSMART Award
  • People's Choice WasteSMART Award
  • All-star WasteSMART Award.

Category finalists will be judged by a panel, except the People's Choice WasteSMART Award which is voted on by the public.

2021 winners

Congratulations to the winners of the 2021 WasteSMART Brisbane Awards which were announced on 18 November 2021 in a ceremony held at Brisbane City Hall.
