Bushfire information pop-up - Brookfield
Join Brisbane City Council, Healthy Land & Water and the Rural Fire Service QLD for a pop-up information session ahead of Bushfire season.
Chat to experts from Council's Planned Burns and Disaster Preparedness and Education teams along with the Fire Ecology & Preparedness Team from Healthy Land & Water.
Learn how taking a few simple steps now can make a big difference during bushfires. Find out your bushfire risk, how to prepare your property, make an emergency plan, what to pack in an emergency kit and where to find trusted updates.
Healthy Land & Water’s Fire Ecology and Preparedness team will be hosting two guided Walk and Talk sessions exploring the important role fire plays in shaping Australian landscapes.
Led by specialists, the walks will cover how native plants and animals have adapted to fire over millennia, and how vegetation traits and fuel structure influence fire behaviour in our local environment.
It's a great opportunity to learn, ask questions, and connect with your community. Bring along the kids for the opportunity to check out the Rural Fire trucks up close.
Venue: Brookfield Rural Fire Brigade, 540 Brookfield Road, Brookfield
There will be parking provided next to the Rural Fire Brigade at Brookfield State School.
This is a free community event and no registration is required.
