Generally inappropriate advertising devices

Some devices are considered to be generally inappropriate in certain city environments.

You can still apply for a full assessment for these types of devices, however the term generally inappropriate provides a very rough initial guide only of the prospects for approval.

If you have found out the facts about the proposed sign location and used the Permitted Advertising Devices Rule and Advertising Devices Design and Assessment Rule to find out that your proposed sign is generally inappropriate, a good first step is to see what other options you have for devices that would be permitted or would require approval.

If you cannot find another option, and would like to further discuss your generally inappropriate proposal it is a good idea to organise a prelodgement meeting.

Fees are applicable for each generally inappropriate advertisement applied for, in addition to the application fee.
