Advertisements Local Law
Brisbane City Council is responsible for permitting and regulating outdoor advertising signs in Brisbane.
The regulations are set out in:
- Advertisements Local Law 2013
- Advertisements Subordinate Local Law 2005.
These local laws are available for download from the State Government Local Laws database.
The advertisements local law and subordinate local law ensure advertisements and associated structures are constructed and maintained to essential standards of public safety and complement desirable characteristics of the natural and built environment in which they are exhibited.
On 17 November 2020, Council resolved to make the Advertisements Interim Local Law 2020 (interim local law). The interim local law amends the Advertisements Subordinate Local Law 2005. The purpose of the interim local law is to regulate advertisements with a high impact electronic display component sign.
