Types of notice of injury, loss or damage claims you can report include:

  • property damage including damage to motor vehicles
  • personal injury.

You can report these issues if you believe they were caused by Council wrongdoing.

What you need to provide
1 Contact details

You must provide contact details, such as:

  • name
  • date of birth
  • phone number
  • email address
  • home address.

Include details of your insurer or persons acting on your behalf (if relevant).

2 Incident details

Provide details about the incident, such as:

  • the type of claim
  • a description of the incident or damage
  • witness information
  • supporting materials.
3 Claim details

Provide evidence to prove:

  • wrongdoing by Council that caused the incident or circumstance
  • Council is liable to pay compensation for your injury, loss or damage.

Frequently asked questions

Council utilises JLT Risk Solutions Pty Ltd (JLT) who are an authorised third party liability claims manager. 

They independently and objectively assess Council's liability when liability claims are made by members of the public. 

JLT Risk Solutions assess liability claims against Council.

Once a form is submitted through Council's form, JLT will send you an acknowledgement letter and reference number within 2 business days. JLT will then investigate your claim and provide a detailed response in a timely manner.
