Types of development and building issues you can report

You can report issues related to:

  • safety concerns
  • non-compliance with approvals
  • illegal or unapproved building work
  • unlawful land or building use.

Examples include issues with:

  • a dwelling house
  • an illegal secondary dwelling
  • development on a small residential lot
  • filling or excavation works
  • building or development along the Brisbane River
  • unapproved home-based business activities
  • unapproved structures
  • fences or retaining walls
  • caravans or sheds used as a residences.

What you need to provide
1 Issue details

You need to provide issue details, such as:

  • what your complaint relates to
  • development applications against the works on the property (if known)
  • additional information about your complaint
  • images (optional).
2 Address details

Provide the location of the issue, such as street, suburb and postcode. Include any defining or surrounding landmarks. 

You can use an interactive map to drop a pin on the location.

3 Contact details (optional)

You can provide contact details, such as your name, phone number and email address.
