Brisbane City Council is dedicated to a liveable city, creating more leisure options and better facilities and venues for all ages to enjoy. Council libraries provide a wide range of services including book clubs, reading programs, computer training, events and workshops. Visit your local library to join, renew or borrow books, and use the many resources on offer.

Increased COVID-19 restrictions

Increased restrictions are in place for South East Queensland. Find out more.

Impacts due to extended lockdown

All Council libraries remain closed until the end of the extended lockdown. There is no need to return books. All current loans due back and any holds that are due to be collected during this time will be extended until after libraries reopen. Library customers can continue to borrow items from the digital collection and enjoy online library activities at home throughout the lockdown via the online library catalogue and the BNELibraries app.
