Library catalogue

Use Council's online library catalogue (eLibCat) to search for books, music, ebooks, magazines, movies and more. Databases, online encyclopaedias and dictionaries are also available through the catalogue.

Summer Reading

Children across Brisbane will grow their love of books this summer with Council’s Summer Reading program. It’s free to join, so visit your local library to collect a pocket book and get started today.

Brisbane Square Library up late

Join us on Wednesday and Friday nights until midnight for a range exciting activities and events or catch up on your reading or study using the free Wi-Fi and comfortable spaces.

Author talks

Council libraries host a variety of different author talks every month. Reserve a spot to see your favourite author speak in person. 

Pop-up Library

Council's Pop-up Library is designed to bring the joy of reading to residents at community events, festivals and selected parks across the city. 

Mobile library services

Borrow from a collection of over 6000 items and access the wider library collection of over 1.4 million items.
