Brisbane City Council has a mobile library service, which offers a convenient service to residents living in Aspley, Bellbowrie, Brighton, Ellen Grove, Forest Lake, Mt Crosby, The Gap and Wakerley. Visitors to the mobile library can borrow from a collection of over 6000 items as well as access the wider library collection of over 1.4 million items, including children’s books, popular bestsellers from the FastBack collection and the latest magazines and DVDs.
Staffed and driven by librarians, the new mobile library is a custom built vehicle that transforms into a multi-dimensional library. Features include a covered deck, extension pod, a lift for wheelchairs and prams, solar panels, internet computers and a Wi-Fi hotspot.
Membership is free. Simply visit the mobile library with your identification next time it is in your area and sign up.
