Getting to the Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha
Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha are at Mt Coot-tha Road, Toowong. This is approximately 15 minutes drive from the Brisbane city centre.
Getting to the gardens by car

Entry to the carpark is from Mt Coot-tha Road.
Parking and access
Free parking is available in the gardens. Alternative parking may be available at J.C. Slaughter Falls carpark (Mt Coot-tha Reserve, off Sir Samuel Griffith Drive) and Anzac Park surrounds (170 Mt Coot-tha Road).
Wheelchair accessible parking is available. Access for the frail and people with a disability is possible to most areas of the gardens. The Brisbane mobility map, available from the Mt Coot-tha Visitor Information Centre, gives detailed access information.
On weekdays, vehicles can drive on the ring road until 4pm. Gates close to vehicles within the gardens on weekends, public holidays and from 4pm weekdays.

Buses can drop students off at the bus drop-off zone at the rear of the Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium and adjacent to the Visitor Information Centre. Use the bus parking bay adjacent to the main driveway after dropping off passengers. Alternate parking for buses is available on Mt Coot-tha Road.
You can ride to the gardens and park your bike at one of the available bike racks. Racks are located:
- in the car park of the Mt Coot-tha Visitor Information Centre
- at the old information kiosk entry
- at the Queensland Conservation collection entry, on the ring road opposite the Japanese Gardens.
The Western Freeway Bikeway will take you directly to the gardens via the Toowong Bikeway flyover. The bikeway runs adjacent to the freeway. You can also access the gardens from the city using the Bicentennial Bikeway along the Brisbane River. The closest public transport connections that accept bikes are Toowong Station (trains) and Regatta Ferry Terminal (CityCat).
Once at the gardens, you are permitted to ride along the ring road only.
