Brisbane Botanic Gardens guided walks

Take a free volunteer guided walk to learn about the plants and features at one of Brisbane City Council's three premier gardens: City Botanic Gardens, Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha and Sherwood Arboretum.

Walks are taken at a gentle pace for about one hour. 

Walk information and bookings

Bookings are not required for individuals or small groups.

New booked walk/customised tour requests for large or special interest groups at Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha are not currently being accepted until 1 February 2024 due to high demand. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Large groups (10 or more people), or groups with a special interest, can make a booking for a customised tour by phoning 07 3403 2535 or by completing the booked walk request form and submitting via email to the botanic gardens. Four weeks' notice is required to arrange a booked walk.

Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha

Walks leave daily from the Visitor Information Centre at 11am and 1pm. Walks are not available on public holidays.

City Botanic Gardens

Walks leave Monday to Saturday from the Information Kiosk (next to the Queensland University of Technology's Main Drive pathway) at 11am and 1pm. Walks are not available on Sundays or public holidays.

Walks will be unavailable 17 December 2023 to 28 January 2024. Walks will recommence on Monday 29 January 2024.

Walks occur monthly leaving from the shelter adjacent to the main carpark off Jolimont Street.
