Ellen Grove Parks precinct project

Brisbane City Council is creating more to see and do in a city that is clean and green by preparing a concept plan for two parks - Ellen Grove District Park and Waterford Road Park.

Council is committed to growing Brisbane’s active and healthy lifestyle, through improving local green spaces and encouraging residents to get out and about and enjoy our natural areas.

The project is part of Council's commitment to enhance and maintain more than 2160 parks across the city, which helps residents get outdoors and enjoying our city’s unique, sub-tropical lifestyle.

About the project

With the Ellen Grove Parks precinct project, Council is providing more opportunities for sport and recreation, to relax and play, and meet with family and friends in one of the many places that makes our city great.

Council is committed to protecting and improving our city’s natural areas while also promoting active, healthy lifestyles for residents.

Council will engage with local residents and community groups to develop a concept plan for the two parks. The concept plan will guide planning for future park improvements and sport and recreation needs of the growing Ellen Grove community. Council will consider the surrounding natural environment values which will be protected and enhanced as part of the project.

The Ellen Grove Parks precinct project will provide parks that respond to the needs of a growing community by providing open green space, facilities for sport and recreation and preserving biodiversity values.

Community consultation

Council has now closed community consultation and would like to thank everyone who participated and provided their input into the project.

Community input will be considered along with technical investigations and Council requirements to prepare the draft Ellen Grove Parks precinct project concept plan which will be released for further community consultation in mid-late 2023.
