CityGlider bus services

The CityGlider buses provide high-frequency transport from West End to Teneriffe (Blue) and Ashgrove to Stones Corner (Maroon).

After running for almost a decade, the iconic blue CityGliders have had a makeover. From 12 July 2021, new articulated buses with increased capacity, will be added to the popular blue CityGlider route. The new buses feature USB chargers and the distinctive blue CityGlider design that provides better visibility for customers.

The CityGlider buses are part of Council's commitment to reduce traffic congestion and improve public transport across the inner city. In addition to CityCat and CityFerry services, the CityGlider buses link to:

  • busway and rail connections
  • Central Business District (CBD) attractions
  • new residential developments.


The CityGlider bus service includes:

  • pre-paid ticketing and dual-door boarding for faster entry and exit
  • a fast and regular timetable
  • 24-hour-a-day service on Friday and Saturday and 18-hour-a-day service from Sunday to Thursday.

Maroon CityGlider

The Maroon CityGlider operates from Ashgrove to Coorparoo connecting major sporting, entertainment, shopping and dining precincts. The Maroon CityGlider route travels:

  • every 10 minutes during peak times and 15 minutes off-peak
  • 18 hours a day from Sunday to Thursday and 24 hours a day on Friday and Saturday
  • throughout Friday and Saturday nights at 30 minute intervals after midnight.

Attractions along the route include:

  • Ashgrove Village shopping precinct
  • Paddington boutiques and cafes
  • Suncorp Stadium
  • Caxton Street food and cultural precinct
  • King George Square
  • Cultural Centre
  • South Bank Parklands
  • The Gabba
  • Stones Corner outlet shopping
  • Langlands Park
  • Coorparoo Square entertainment precinct.

Blue CityGlider

The Blue CityGlider travels from West End to the west of the CBD to Newstead in the east. It links outer city CityCat stops to the CBD. The CityGlider route travels:

  • every five minutes during peak times and 10-15 minutes off peak
  • 18 hours a day from Sunday to Thursday and 24 hours a day on Friday and Saturday
  • from West End to South Brisbane via Montague Road, Mollison and Melbourne Streets
  • across the Brisbane River on the Victoria Bridge
  • through the city via Adelaide Street
  • Fortitude Valley, to or from Newstead, using Wickham and Ann Streets
