Background

The Bretts Wharf Ferry Terminal was opened in June 2015. It encompasses a new style of gangway, designed to satisfy Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport (DSAP) requirements.

Regular maintenance inspections showed that bearings in the Bretts Wharf gangway support rollers required maintenance works.

About the maintenance works

Works involved removing and replacing the bearings under the gangway and minor design improvements to ensure improved long-term operation.

Works were undertaken from early March until early April 2021.

Council would like to thank the community for their patience while these important works were undertaken.
