Brisbane City Council’s extensive bikeway and pathway projects align with the Transport Plan for Brisbane – Strategic Directions to plan and deliver a network of accessible walking and cycling paths to encourage more active lifestyle choices. The network improves access to local destinations and the CBD and helps to minimise traffic congestion.

Council continues to invest in major bikeway projects, such as the Indooroopilly Riverwalk and CityLink Cycleway in the city centre, as well as bikeway upgrades that are delivered as part of our road construction and upgrade program. Learn more about completed bikeway and pathway projects across Brisbane.

Council also maintains a comprehensive program of renewal activities to ensure our bikeways are kept in a safe and serviceable condition, ensuring our network continues to meet rider and pedestrian needs.
