We’re pleased to share the design of a new connection for Gardner Road, linking Priestdale Road to Underwood Road in Rochedale, is complete. We will soon begin the tender process for construction to begin later this year. This important upgrade will improve connectivity and safety for everyone who travels through this growing community.
The Gardner Road project is jointly funded by the Queensland Government and Brisbane City Council.
Works will include:
- constructing Gardner Road from Priestdale Road to Underwood Road, with 2 through lanes in each direction
- installing new traffic signals along Gardner Road at both the School Road and Priestdale Road intersections, with signalised pedestrian crossings
- constructing a new bridge over the Bulimba Creek East Tributary, with a dedicated fauna crossing under the bridge
- installing a new footpath on the eastern side of the new section of Gardner Road, connecting to existing footpaths in the area and improving active travel facilities
- installing a new 2.5-metre-wide shared path on the western side of the new section of Gardner Road, linking to the existing shared path at Underwood Road, and to Priestdale Road
- installing a new 2.5-metre-wide shared path on the northern side of Priestdale Road, which extends east and west of the intersection with Gardner Road, connecting to the existing shared path
- providing on-road cycle lanes on Gardner Road, connecting to existing cycle lanes at both Underwood Road and Priestdale Road
- installing new signage and landscaping.
