Getting around Brisbane just got even easier with Brisbane Metro – a better way to connect to what matters most. Metro makes it easier than ever to reach the people, places and activities you love across our lifestyle city.

With turn-up-and-go services every 5 minutes on weekdays and 24-hour services on weekends, there's no need for timetables. Just hop on and enjoy the journey!

With more services running more often, Brisbane Metro and the new bus network make getting around Brisbane simpler.

We’ve created a handy itinerary to help you make the most of what’s along this exciting route.

Itinerary 1: Brisbane City to South Brisbane

Start: Roma Street station, Brisbane City

Start your day with a wander through Roma Street Parkland. It’s a lush inner-city oasis filled with vibrant gardens and quiet places to unwind. Enjoy the rainforest walks, lakeside views and open lawns before strolling over to nearby Roma Street station.

From here, hop on the turn-up-and-go Brisbane Metro. Enjoy fast, reliable services that take you into the city and beyond.

Hop off: King George Square station, Brisbane City

Get off the M2 to explore the Museum of Brisbane. Take a guided tour of historic City Hall. Visit the famous Clock Tower to enjoy great views of the city.

Don’t miss seeing the convict-era drystone wall, uncovered during construction of the new tunnel. You can see it at the corner of George and Adelaide streets.

Get back on: King George Square station, Brisbane City

Get back on the turn-up-and-go M2 Metro service at King George Square station. You’ll glide through the heart of the city as you travel via the Adelaide Street tunnel. This route avoids surface traffic and saves time.

Fun fact: Workers removed more than 39,500 cubic metres of soil to build this tunnel. That's enough to fill 16 Olympic-sized swimming pools!

End: Cultural Centre station

End your journey at Brisbane’s vibrant arts and culture hub. Visit QAGOMA, see a show at QPAC, or take a sunset walk along the South Bank riverfront.

Itinerary 2: Brisbane City to Upper Mount Gravatt

Start: King George Square station, Brisbane City

You'll find plenty to see and do around this station. Take in the grandeur of Brisbane City Hall. Its heritage-listed architecture and prominent clock tower are eye-catching and rich in history. From here it’s short walk to Queen Street Mall, an open-air promenade with over 500 retailers and plenty of dining options.

Hop on the M1 Brisbane Metro service at King George Square Station ride through the Adelaide Street tunnel. This underground tunnel carries nearly half a million services every year.

Stop 1: South Bank busway station

Jump off at South Bank and enjoy the lush parklands or cool off at Streets Beach. Grab a coffee or lunch and soak up the riverside atmosphere before jumping back on the M1 service.

Stop 2: Greenslopes station

Take a break at Greenslopes, a laid-back local stop close to the recently upgraded Hanlon Park. This popular park features new walking tracks, shaded areas and native gardens.

End: Upper Mount Gravatt busway station

Finish your trip at the door to Westfield Mt Gravatt, one of Brisbane’s biggest shopping hubs.  From the busway station, it's a short walk to Garden City Library. Inside, you’ll find a calm, friendly place to read, study or take part in community events.

Whether you’re after food, shopping or quiet time, Mt Gravatt gives you a fun mix to end your trip.
