When to request CCTV footage

Government agencies, such as the Queensland Police Service and the Department of Transport and Main Roads can request online CCTV footage from a Council camera.

This includes footage from Council’s Traffic Closed Circuit Television Network and CitySafe CCTV cameras.

What you need to provide
1 Request details

Provide information including:

  • the agency you’re representing
  • your name, phone number and email address
  • your identification number (e.g. badge number).

2 Address and incident details

Provide details about the incident and location, including:

  • the street, suburb and postcode
  • a description of what happened
  • the incident/case number
  • date and time of the incident.
3 Supporting information

You can attach up to 10 supporting documents, such as:

  • QPS Charge Sheet
  • Notice to Appear
  • pictures of people involved.
