Mt Coot-tha Visitor Information Centre
The Mt Coot-tha Visitor Information Centre is the gateway to the greater Mt Coot-tha precinct. Set in the beautiful Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha, the centre includes information on the botanic gardens and its attractions, and Mt Coot-tha Reserve's walking and biking trails, and picnic areas.
The information centre opened in September 2017 as part of a significant upgrade to Council’s facilities on Mt Coot-tha including new picnic areas and facilities, an extension of the botanic gardens and new connecting trails.
The Mt Coot-tha Visitor Information Centre is open every day of the year (except Christmas Day and Boxing Day) from 9am-4pm. On Anzac Day, the centre is open from 1.30-4pm.
Access to the gardens (via pedestrian entrances) remains open to the public 365 days per year from 8am-6pm in summer (September to March) and 8am-5pm in winter (April to August).
The information centre features informative displays, a touchscreen information panel and a video on all aspects of the larger Mt Coot-tha precinct.
Copies of the botanic gardens and Mt Coot-tha Forest track maps are available for you to pick up before you head off on your adventure. You can also download or view a copy of the botanic gardens and Mt Coot-tha Forest track maps.
The Spotted Gum Trail can be accessed by walking or driving to the Australian Plant Communities garden and entering the Mt Coot-tha Reserve by the gate marked at 'C' on the Mt Coot-tha Forest track map. This gate is open between 8am 4pm daily. Vehicles must be removed from the gardens before 4pm to avoid being locked in.
Note: Vehicle access in the gardens is not permitted on weekends, public holidays and from 4pm on weekdays.
Dogs are not permitted in the gardens at any time (except for guide and assistance dogs).
Our staff are available to help you with information, get oriented or to plan your day on Mt Coot-tha.
