Paying your accounts online is easy. You can:

  • make payments of more than $10 and less than $10,000 using your credit card (Mastercard, Visa or American Express) for all accounts except:
    • rates which has an upper limit of $100,000, or
    • planning applications which has an upper limit of $20,000 
  • make part payments for accounts (except for licence renewals and infringements).

When you pay your account online, make sure you have your Council account handy. If you need help:

Frequently asked questions

I don't have my account handy. Can I still pay online?

Yes, but you will need the account number. If you can't find your account number, you can phone Council on 07 3403 8888 for help.

Can I pay more than one account or invoice online at a time?

Yes, choose 'pay another account' on the third screen (receipt screen).

How late on the due date can I pay my account?

Payments are recorded at the time paid in Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST). All payments made until midnight AEST on the due date are recorded as such.

The amount payable on my account is over $10,000. Can I pay it online?

You can only pay amounts up to $10,000 in a single transaction with your credit card, except:

  • rates which has an upper limit of $100,000, or
  • planning applications which has an upper limit of $20,000 (American Express card not accepted for this payment type).

My account number isn't accepted. What should I do?

Check the account number is the same as the one printed on the top right-hand corner of your account. If you need more information, phone Council on 07 3403 8888.

What should I do if my payment is rejected?

A message will appear on your screen explaining the reason for the payment rejection. If the system is temporarily unavailable, you can try to pay online again after a couple of hours.

If your payment is rejected for another reason, contact the financial institution that issued your credit card for more information.

How can I confirm that my online payment has gone through?

You will receive a receipt number on the screen after successfully making a payment. You can also confirm with your financial institution (e.g. by checking your monthly statement) that the payment was successful.

Can I get a printed receipt?

Yes, you can print the final screen of the transaction as a receipt or enter your email address to send the receipt to yourself. 

Can I use my credit card to make part payments?

You can make part payments on all accounts except licence renewal accounts and infringements. American Express payments can only be accepted for rate payments.

Why isn't my credit card being accepted?

The online payment service is only valid for use with Mastercard, Visa and American Express (for rate payments only).

The system says my credit card is invalid. Who should I contact?

Contact the financial institution that issued your credit card.
