Manage your property

     Request a change of property manager when a rental agent takes over management of a rental property.

Sale of land for overdue rates and/or charges

When a property owner fails to pay their rates, Council has the authority to adopt a resolution to sell the land in accordance with the City of Brisbane Regulation 2012 (Qld). This resolution allows Council to proceed with the sale of the property to recover the outstanding rates. 

Once the properties are advertised for sale, there is still an opportunity for the property owner to prevent the sale. If the rates and any associated costs are paid in full, the property can be removed for the list of properties to be sold.

A notice of auction as published on the Courier Mail on 4 October 2025 appears in the link below. The auction is set for 5 November 2025 with 9 properties going to auction. Refer below for futher information.

Credit and debit card surcharge

There’s a 0.78% surcharge for payments made by:

  • Visa credit and debit cards
  • Mastercard
  • American Express.

This surcharge covers the fees Council is charged for these payment methods.
