Set up, change, defer or cancel direct debit rates payments online. You can also cancel your rates donation.

When to set up a direct debit for rates

You can set up a direct debit transfer from your bank account to your rate account to pay off the full rate balance amount:

  • on the due date
  • through periodic payments with the balance paid by the due date
  • through periodic payments of a value you set.

This form can be used to:

  • set up, change or cancel a direct debit
  • defer payment for an existing direct debit
  • cancel rates donation only
  • cancel a donation to the Lord Mayor's Charitable Trust.

Set up a direct debit

Complete your request using the online form.

What you need to provide
1 Rate account details

You need to provide information about:

  • the type of direct debit request
  • your rate account, including your:
    • account number/s
    • name as it appears on the rate account
    • property location.
2 Applicant details

You must provide contact details, such as your:

  • name
  • phone number
  • email address
  • postal address (if different to the property details provided).

Frequently asked questions

Complete the online form and choose the option to 'change an existing direct debit option'. 

You can defer your payment by completing the online form. Requests must be made at least 10 working days before a payment is due.

If you defer your payment, you will need to pay by another method. If there is any unpaid amount after the due date, interest may accrue and discount (if eligible) may not be granted.
