How to pay your rates
Paying your rates is easy. Pay online, set up an automatic payment or choose a method that suits you.
Check when your rates are due
Council issues rate accounts quarterly.
Pay your rates early to receive the early payment discount (if eligible).
Avoid interest charges on late payments when you pay by the due date.
Choose your payment method
There are many ways you can make a rates payment, including by mail or in person.
The easiest way to pay your rates is online.

What you need to provide
To pay rates, you need your:
- rates notice
- bill number (located in the top right hand corner of your rates notice), or account number (located on the third page of your rates notice)
- preferred card payment method: Mastercard, Visa, American Express or debit card.
Add a donation to your payment
You can donate to the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Trust when paying your rates.
If paying another way, choose the donation option.
