How to check a rates balance
1 Provide a property description

To complete this section, you must provide the:

  • lot on plan number
  • plan type
  • plan number.

These details are located on the survey plan, title record or Council rate account (on page 3). 

2 Provide ownership details

To complete this section, you must provide your:

  • owner details
  • rate account number (located on rate account)
  • settlement date.

Important things to know

  • You may also need to make a water and wastewater balance enquiry when buying or selling a property.
  • Council guarantees that the balance shown is accurate as of the search date only. It is important to note that Council cannot anticipate any transactions initiated by financial institutions that may affect the future account balance.
