When to request a compost equipment rebate
You can request a compost equipment rebate for the purchase of eligible compost or food waste recycling equipment. This includes:
- compost bins, tumblers, aerators, drills or monitoring devices
- Bokashi composting system
- pet waste composting systems
- worm farms or towers
- food waste dehydrator system
- in-sink food disposal system.
Select the type of compost equipment rebate you are requesting.
You need to provide details about the equipment for the rebate, such as:
- the date of purchase
- the total cost
- a copy of the receipt.
We'll also ask you for your BSB and account number to transfer the rebate to.
Provide the details of your property, such as:
- street number and name
- suburb
- postcode.
You must provide contact details, such as your:
- name
- phone number
- email address.
Frequently asked questions
If your submission is accepted, you’ll receive your rebate within 30 days. The rebate will be paid via direct deposit into your nominated bank account.
No. Each household can submit one claim for a composting equipment item and one claim for a food‑waste recycling equipment item.
This means you may have up to two claims in total, but you cannot claim multiple equipment items within the same category.
