Types of unmaintained private property you can report
You can report properties with untidy yards, overgrown gardens or hazardous objects and vegetation. This can include:
- overgrown grass and general weeds that are at least knee-high and cover 30% or more of the property
- hazardous vegetation that impacts pedestrians or motorists
- pest plants (weeds)
- unsightly objects that cover 30% or more of the property.
What you need to provide
Issue details
Provide issue details such as:
- the type of issue causing concern, including any public safety issues
- at least one photo of the front of the property showing the letterbox (if possible) and the issue of concern.

Provide location details such as house number, street, suburb and postcode. Also provide a clear description of any nearby identifying landmarks.
