Brisbane City Council has 22 swimming pools across the city which provide opportunities for fun, fitness and recreation. Visit a Council pool to cool off, relax, enjoy water play, or improve your fitness with lap swimming or a group fitness class. Whether you’re planning a family day out or just want a quick dip, there’s a Council pool near you.
In addition to water play areas at selected pools, kids can splash about in water parks across the city, including Wynnum Aqua Park.

$2 Summer Dips
Get active, cool down and enjoy Council pools for less this summer with the much-loved $2 Summer Dips initiative.
From 1 December 2025 to 28 February 2026, general entry fees to Council pools are discounted to $2 per entry.
We announced the return of $2 Summer Dips in this year’s budget as part of a package of cost-of-living initiatives to take pressure off household budgets.
Brisbane just keeps getting better!
Admission types included in the $2 Summer Dips initiative are:
- adult general entry
- child general entry
- concession general entry
- 3-person family pass (one adult and 2 children)
- 4-person family pass (2 adults and 2 children)
- additional adult
- additional child
- other general entry admission types charged by lessees, including:
- spectator general entry
- water polo general entry
- group booking general entry
- Active and Healthy program general entry.
- Entry to Chermside Pool water park and Newmarket Olympic Swimming Pool large double-loop slide are excluded from the $2 Summer Dips initiative.
- Lessee-operated pool programs are also excluded from the initiative, including:
- learn-to-swim classes
- swimming squads
- school swimming
- aqua aerobics classes that are not part of Council’s Active and Healthy program
- hirer agreements and events.

Always be alert to your surroundings.

Learn how to correctly perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

Make sure you have everything you need before your child gets into the water (e.g. your towel, bag, etc).

Actively supervise your children around water. Take extra care if you're supervising a child 14 years of age or younger, or someone who isn’t a strong swimmer.
- Never leave your child alone in the water or in the care of an older child.

Keep your kids safe
Actively supervising your child is one of the best ways you can keep them safe around swimming pools.
Follow the Keep Watch at Public Pools age guidelines if you’re supervising kids at a public pool.
Always be in the water and within arm’s reach of the child/non-swimmer.
Stay close and constantly supervise the child. Be prepared to get into the water with this age group.
Maintain visual contact and regularly physically check on the child.
Pool lessee information
As a pool lessee, you must keep Council updated about incidents, closures and events at your pool.
Use the online form to report an injury or dangerous event at your leased site.
You must do this within 24 hours of the incident occurring.
Complete the online form to notify us about planned closures or exclusive use across the site.
Are you hosting a movie in the pool, a family fun day or special event open to the public? Notify us by completing the online event submission form.
Frequently asked questions
The age a child can swim unsupervised in a pool depends on the individual child.
Always supervise children 14 years of age or younger when they’re swimming in a pool.
You should, however, supervise a person of any age who isn’t a strong swimmer.
