About the project

Council is proactively managing the Kangaroo Point cliff face through regular monitoring and maintenance to improve the stability of the cliff face and the safety of the community.

These works will reoccur periodically as part of the ongoing maintenance program. We will keep you informed of any future temporary closures.

Upcoming investigations

We will be commencing investigation and maintenance works at the cliff face directly behind the Riverlife Adventure Centre from Thursday 17 November 2022.

The works will occur between 7am to 3pm, Monday to Saturday, and take up to three days to complete, weather and site conditions permitting.

All works will require rope access from the top of the cliffs . Fencing will be in place creating an exclusion zone at the top and bottom of the cliffs while work is in progress.

Works along the cliff face will include:

  • Mapping and investigations to identify unstable rocks and vegetation for removal behind Riverlife

Temporary access changes

There may be temporary path closures where works are underway, however, pedestrian and bicycle access will be maintained at all times.

We ask climbers to use alternate climbing routes during this time. Signage will be in place directing users to alternate access.

Council appreciates the popularity of these facilities among Brisbane's rock-climbing community and the adjacent park space for local residents and visitors to our city. We appreciate your understanding during these works.
