About the project

Brisbane City Council has identified the culvert crossing on Roghan Road near Neville Road, Bridgeman Downs as requiring rehabilitation before reaching the end of its lifespan and to ensure this road corridor can cater for future traffic demands.

Rehabilitation works

The project will include:

  • repairing cracks to the culvert
  • installing restraint blocks inside the culvert walls to provide lateral reinforcement.

To facilitate the works, Council will remove vegetation currently covering the culvert aprons. All works will be carried out in accordance with relevant environmental guidelines and Council will make every effort to minimise environmental impacts during the works.

Works are anticipated to commence from late January 2021 and take approximately four weeks to complete, weather and site conditions permitting. Work will generally be undertaken from 7am to 5pm Monday to Saturday.

Residents and businesses near Roghan Road, Bridgeman Downs, may experience some construction impacts associated with these works, including noise, dust and vibration. Council will make every effort to minimise the impact of the works on the community. Due to workplace health and safety requirements reversing beepers cannot be switched off.

Roghan Road will remain open while the works are undertaken however road users may experience some minor delays. Signage and traffic control will be in place to assist motorists, pedestrians and cyclists through the site.

Council is committed to keeping local residents informed of construction activity in their area and will provide advance notification of activities likely to cause disruption such as noisy and out-of-hours works.
