Suburban Business Hub
Brisbane City Council's Suburban Business Hub is a free co-working and meeting space for Brisbane-based businesses at 16 Aspinall Street, Nundah.
At the Suburban Business Hub, you can:
- attend free events and workshops run by industry professionals
- talk to Council officers about our free business services
- meet and network with other Brisbane business owners
- make use of the hub's free facilities and equipment
- view the Local Business Showcase and lodge an expression of interest to showcase your own products in this space.
Standard opening hours
Email the hub prior to attending as this venue periodically closes for large group bookings or business workshops.
- Mondays: 9am – 4pm (excluding public holidays)
- Tuesdays: 9am – 4pm (excluding public holidays)
- Wednesdays: 9am – 4pm (excluding public holidays)
- Thursdays: 9am – 4pm (excluding public holidays)
- Fridays: 9am – 4pm (excluding public holidays)
- Saturdays: closed
- Sundays: closed

The hub is a shared work facility consisting of a large, open-plan space (approximately 100m²). It does not have individual meeting rooms.

Parking and public transport
There is no dedicated car park at the hub. There is time-restricted parking in surrounding streets and unrestricted parking a short walking distance away.
The hub is located close to public transport, including Nundah station and bus services on Sandgate Road.
Drop-in or reserve a table
Small groups and individuals from Brisbane-based businesses can drop-in to the hub during opening hours for co-working and meetings. You can reserve a table for groups up to 8 people.
The hub sometimes accepts exclusive bookings for large groups. Email the hub in advance to check availability.
Request a booking - exclusive use of hub
Brisbane-based businesses, business groups or Chambers of Commerce can request exclusive use of the Suburban Business Hub for a large group, as well as extended hours use of the venue. The hub is suitable for business meetings, staff training, free workshops and presentations.
Booking requests must be made at least 2 working days before your desired date to give us time to check availability and organise security access.
If your booking is accepted, you will receive an email notification with a hire agreement which must be signed and returned to confirm your booking.
Venue capacity
The hub's maximum capacity is 50 people. Capacity may vary depending on your purposes. The following capacity numbers are based on available equipment:

The Suburban Business Hub proudly showcases Brisbane, with a rotating window display of local, independent and artisan businesses from all over Brisbane.

Aylee Kim
Aylee Kim is a contemporary artist who is committed to capturing colourful moments. Based in Acacia Ridge, she draws inspiration from scenes in daily life and uses vivid colours and bold lines in her artwork to turn the everyday into the extraordinary. Capturing the beauty of Brisbane streetscapes and landmarks, Aylee's work celebrates the vibrancy of Brisbane through both the city and suburbs. Her stunning artworks are available as original paintings, canvas prints, as well as scarves and art tiles.

Studio Blackthorn
Dominic Daly of Studio Blackthorn specialises in creating lighting and home decor pieces, meticulously designed, crafted and assembled in Newmarket. Each Studio Blackthorn piece is manufactured using renewable plant-based biopolymers derived from sugars in plants like sugarcane or corn. As an industrial designer with a deep-rooted fascination with creative problem-solving and design, Dominic ensures each item is a distinctive work of art, blending artistic elegance with functional beauty.
The Characters
The Characters creator, Belinda Rabe, is a graphic designer by trade, and wood turner in the making. Her design aesthetic often reflects bright, bold colours and she is drawn to playful and imaginative concepts. The Characters is an evolution of this aesthetic in a more tactile form, something colourful and unique to exist in your home and elicit a smile. The Characters are designed and hand painted by Belinda in her Tarragindi studio, with turning done at the Woodturners Society of Queensland facility in Greenslopes.
Debra Hood Art
Debra Hood is a Brisbane local who paints colour-filled Queenslanders surrounded by nature - reimagined as explosions of whimsical colour. She specialises in intricate, colourful and detailed cityscapes that capture the romantic essence of inner-city Brisbane suburbs. Debra is inspired by Brisbane's abundance of colourful flora that continually changes throughout the year. This foliage is mirrored in her paintings as a confetti-like, multicoloured display. Her incredible artwork is also available in a range of giftware, accessories and apparel.
