Exercise equipment in parks (outdoor gyms)

More than 150 of Brisbane City Council parks have exercise equipment installed in them. These outdoor gyms provide an opportunity to exercise and get fit outside for free.

All outdoor gyms closed until further notice

The personal safety of Brisbane residents and visitors is our top priority. Due to coronavirus, some of our events, facilities, services and venues have been impacted.

Council’s park barbecues, basketball facilities, BMX tracks, dog off-leash areas (fenced dog parks), exercise equipment (outdoor gyms), playgrounds, and skate parks are temporarily closed until further notice.

Check our Coronavirus: Council updates and impacts page for the latest updates, cancelled events and venue closures. Protect yourself and others by practicing social distancing in our parks.

Exercise equipment is different in each park. Some parks include simple, static equipment for chin-ups, sit-ups and step-ups. You can also find interactive and movable equipment with cardio and resistance. These features are similar to indoor fitness equipment including rowing and stepping machines. Many pieces of equipment have instructions for use.

Find park exercise equipment in your area.
