Enjoy the delicate sounds of Renaissance period music in the beautiful setting of the Japanese Garden. This performance features the viol: a four to six stringed instrument, it was played with a bow whilst being held downwards on the lap. It was very popular in England during the Elizabethan period and remained so long after the rest of Europe replaced it with the violin.
Performance is in the Japanese teahouse, but please sit on the lawn to listen.
Children under 16 are to be accompanied by an adult.
