International Jazz Day was an initiative of jazz great Herbie Hancock and was proclaimed at UNESCO in 2011.
It brings countries and communities around the world together every year on 30 April.
It is an international celebration of jazz as a form of individual expression that promotes peace, dialogue between cultures, diversity and respect for human dignity. It also helps to eradicate discrimination and foster gender equality.
The Brisbane Jazz Club will be participating in this global celebration to present a program of superb jazz presented by a selection of Australian musicians.
This event is proudly supported by Brisbane City Council. For more information, visit Brisbane Jazz Club.
