Are you coming to enjoy the festivities at Shakespeare in the Gardens (Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha)? Looking to enjoy a Tudor meal on the lawn while watching the dancing, fencing or theatre performances?
Pre-order your picnic box (for one) by Sunday 14 April at 2pm for collection on the day between 11am-12noon. Prepared by the same experienced and creative people who cater to Abbeyfest.
Every Eat like the Bard picnic box contains the following selection of meats, cheeses & sweet treats inspired by Elizabethan cuisine. Feast like Queen Bess herself. The picnic box includes:
- soft cheese on rye bread with walnuts & thyme with a drizzle of honey
- salad of leaves, mint, radishes & spring onion garnished with edible flowers
- Hamlet’s Funeral Baked Meat Pie (individual pie of spiced beef, veal & fruit in a pastry crust)
- bread roll filled with either spiced chicken & herbs, roasted beef and fruit paste or roasted pork with roasted red onion chutney
- Maids of Honour from the Court of King Henry VIII (little tart of curd & almond)
- Marchpane (little biscuit of almonds & rosewater)
Eat like the Bard picnic boxes can be directly ordered via the TryBooking website. Gluten free option available. Vegetarian option can be requested by clicking on the contact event organiser link on the picnic box booking page.
Bookings
No bookings required for entry on the day, however orders for the picnic box must be made by Sunday 14 April at 2pm through the TryBooking website for collection on the day. Other food items are available for purchase on the day.
