Breakfast Creek green bridge

Brisbane City Council is building five new green bridges across Brisbane to make it even easier for you to get around our city using public transport, or by bike, or on foot.

The Breakfast Creek green bridge will cater for pedestrians and cyclists and will activate a previously underutilised part of the Brisbane River, connecting Brisbane's northern suburbs with the CBD.

It will provide an improved walking and cycling between the new Lores Bonney Riverwalk, which was delivered as part of Council's Kingsford Smith Drive upgrade to the inner city.

The Breakfast Creek green bridge will also enhance recreational experiences along the Brisbane River.

Initial consultation on the project was undertaken in late 2019 and preliminary planning is now underway on this project. Feedback from the community will play a critical role in the development of the Breakfast Creek green bridge and Council will provide further opportunities for you to have your say on the project in 2020.

The proposed alignment extending from Kingsford Smith Drive at Albion to Breakfast Creek Road at Newstead has been identified.

The proposed alignment is not final and is subject to further investigations and community and stakeholder consultation.

Continued feedback from the community and stakeholders will play a critical role in further defining the project’s benefits, including the bridge’s final alignment, landing locations and design treatments.
