Traffic switch and night works on Beams Road

Starting soon, new traffic arrangements will be implemented along Beams Road, between Dorville Road and Balcara Avenue. These new traffic arrangements will be in place until mid-2024.  

 

 

When will this work take place?

Traffic switch

From Sunday 24 March 2024 to mid-2024

Day works

Monday to Saturday, 7am to 5pm

Night works

Commencing from Sunday 24 March 2024 for approximately 1 week to complete traffic switch works. 

7pm to 5am, Sunday to Thursday

All works are weather and site conditions permitting. 

What does this mean for you?

Access to properties along Beams Road, between Dorville Road and Balcara Avenue will be maintained during these works.

  • All road users please follow the direction of signage, bollards and traffic control. 
  • Motorists travelling east towards Carseldine railway station, follow the bollards through the roundabout and into the new temporary traffic lane.
  • Motorists travelling west towards Gympie Road, continue on the southern kerbside lane. 
  • For residents between Dorville Road and Balcara Avenue, driveway access will continue to be left-in/left-out only. 
  • There will be reduced speed limits, lane closures, changes to traffic flow and short-term traffic disruptions.

How might this work impact you?

  • Noise, dust, and vibration - temporary noise, possible dust and vibration may be experienced from the construction activities.
  • Lighting - temporary lighting towers are required to light work areas at night to ensure worker safety.
  • Pedestrian detours - will be in place throughout the work area, please follow the direction of signage and traffic controllers. 
  • Temporary driveway restrictions - short periods of changed or closed access may be required. Impacted residents will be notified. 

Every effort will be made to reduce impacts to the community from construction activities as much as possible.

Energex night works

Energex will also start night works intermittently from early April 2024 for approximately 2 weeks. These works will take place from Sunday to Thursday, between 6.30pm and 5am, weather and site conditions permitting. 

Energex will notify impacted residents.
