Use this page to read the terms and conditions for entering the food saver pack draw upon completion of the end-of-challenge survey for Council's Save Money Save Food challenge.

  1. These terms and condition set out all of the information regarding the Brisbane City Council - Save Money Save Food challenge - Food Saver Pack prize (the Terms and Conditions).
     
  2. The promoter of this competition is Brisbane City Council ABN 72 002 765 795 acting through its Waste and Resource Recovery Services branch in the City Standards division, whose principal office is at Regional Operations Centre, 20 Tradecoast Drive, Eagle Farm (the Promoter).
     
  3. Information on how to enter this competition forms part of these Terms and Conditions.
     
  4. Competition entry is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
     
  5. Prize: There are forty (40) prizes available to be won for this competition, each consisting of two (2) Grow It Local seed packs, one (1) OzHarvest Use It Up tape, one (1) OzHarvest Everyday Cookbook, and six (6) silicone food covers (the Prize).

    The Prize is subject to the specific terms and conditions of the Prize provider.

    Entrants acknowledge that any delay in postage and handling of the Prize is beyond the control of the Promoter.
     
  6. Competition period: The competition will open on Sunday 1 January 2023 and close at 5pm AEST on Sunday 31 December 2023. No entries will be accepted after this competition has closed.
     
  7. How to enter: Entrants must fully complete and submit the Save Money Save Food challenge online survey. The online survey link is included in the closing text message of the Save Money Save Food challenge.

    Entrants must provide their Brisbane residential postal address with the online survey.

    Entrants can only enter the competition once, and any subsequent entries from the same entrant will be deemed invalid.
     
  8. Eligibility: To be eligible to enter this competition, a person must:
    (a) be a resident of the City of Brisbane, identified by the postcode provided in the online survey
    (b) not be an employee or contracted staff of the Promoter.
     
  9. Competition draw: The Prize winners of the competition will be the first ten (10) eligible entries who complete the Save Money Save Food survey at the beginning of each quarterly period (January, April, July, October 2023).

    The decision of the officer who reviews and determines the first ten a910) eligible entries per quarter will be conclusive and no correspondence will be entered into.
     
  10. Prize Winner notification: Each Prize winner will be notified via phone or email by an officer of the Promoter within the months of January, April, July and October for the quarter pertaining to their submission respectively.

    Each Prize winner will receive the Prize in the mail, to the address submitted in the online survey.
     
  11.  No liability of Promoter: The Promoter accepts no responsibility whatsoever for late, unsubmitted or ineligible entries due to internet or technology related errors or for any other reason. The Promoter makes no representations or warranties as to the quality, suitability or merchantability of the Prize. Despite any other provision of these Terms and Conditions, to the maximum extent permitted by law, the Promoter is not liable for:

    (a) any loss or damage whatsoever (including but not limited to direct loss, indirect loss, economic loss, special loss, or consequential loss) which is suffered or incurred by an entrant (including without limitation any Prize winner); or

    (b) without limiting paragraph (a), any personal injury or death or loss of, or damage to, property in connection with the entry into the competition or acceptance of the Prize,

    howsoever such liability arises and whether arising in tort (including without limitation in negligence), for breach of contract (including without limitation under any indemnity), under statute, in equity or otherwise.
     
  12. To the extent all or any part of condition 11 is found to be contrary to the Australian Consumer Law, but the Australian Consumer Law otherwise permits the Promoter to limit the Promoter's liability to the value of the Prize or the resupply of the Prize, then the liability of the Promoter is instead limited, at the Promoter's election, to either:

    (a) the value of the Prize; or

    (b) the resupply of the Prize,

    howsoever such liability arises and whether arising in tort (including without limitation in negligence), for breach of contract (including without limitation under any indemnity), under statute, in equity or otherwise.
     
  13.  Privacy consent: By entering this competition, the entrant acknowledges and consents to their personal information being collected and stored by the Promoter for the purpose of this competition.

    This information will be collected and used in accordance with Council's privacy statement.
     
  14. Force Majeure: If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned (including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition) the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition. The Promoter reserves the right in its ole discretion to disqualify all entries from any individual who tampers with, or benefits from tampering with, the entry process which as a result corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the competition.

    In the case of the intervention of any outside agent or event which naturally changes the result or prevents or hinders its determination, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest or strikes, the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the competition and recommence it from the start on the same Terms and Conditions.
     
  15.  Competition updates or cancellation: Council reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions, including amending key dates in conditions 6, 9 and 10 at any time, and to cancel or amend the competition at any time without notice or further recourse to the entrants.
