Community and corporate resources

The environment centres provide facilities and programs for community and corporate groups. 

Meeting room hire

The Downfall Creek Bushland Centre has one meeting room available for hire by local not for profit community groups, organisations and for corporate use. Groups can meet in relaxed and natural bushland setting, close to parking and amenities. The room is not available for parties or other events. The meeting room has several facilities and features:

  • seating for up to 40
  • air-conditioning
  • seats, tables, projector, DVD player and whiteboard
  • tea and coffee making facilities
  • kitchenette
  • wheelchair access.

Make a booking enquiry

You can make an online booking enquiry for the Downfall Creek Bushland Centre meeting room. Your requested date must be a minimum of two calendar weeks in advance. If your desired date is within two calendar weeks, please call the Downfall Creek Bushland Centre on 07 3407 2400.

Community use of the meeting room can be free for groups that are not for profit and are not registered as charities. Registered Charities may need to supply an Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) number or Australian Business Number (ABN) and must also be approved by Council.

From 1 July 2018 the following costs apply to community groups using the meeting room for commercial purposes or when people are paying fees to attend:

The following costs apply to corporate, (other than the Council) or any non-community use:

All prices include GST.

Room availability

The meeting room is available for public bookings seven (7) days per week, depending on availability. Council will arrange orientation, keys and security instructions if the booking is not in normal business hours.

Environmental activities

Visitors to the environment centres can enjoy:

  • spotlight walks
  • guided reserve walks
  • canoeing at the Boondall Wetlands

Activities in the Environmental Learning program may be changed for children or mixed age groups. Boondall Wetlands offer a free volunteer guided walk on weekends for individuals and groups.
