Guided walks

Take a free volunteer guided walk to learn about the plants and features of the Brisbane Botanic Gardens, Mt Coot-tha. Walks are taken at a gentle pace for about one hour.

Walk information and bookings

Walks leave twice daily (Monday-Sunday) from the Mt Coot-tha Visitor Information Centre at 11am and 1pm. Walks are not available on public holidays.

It is not necessary for individuals or small groups to book these walks. Large groups (10 or more people) or groups with a special interest can make a booking for a customised tour by phoning 07 3403 2535. Four weeks notice is required to arrange a booked walk.

For walks for school groups, view our Education at the gardens page.

Becoming a volunteer guide

The Brisbane Botanic Gardens' volunteer guides are a group of people from all walks of life. They share knowledge and enthusiasm for the plant collections of the gardens. Volunteers are always welcome and this is a great way to share your interest in plants and the gardens with others.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer guide, phone 07 3403 2531 Monday to Friday to speak with the Volunteer Guide Officer.  Alternatively you can email the Botanic Gardens, Mt Coot-tha to indicate your interest in becoming a volunteer guide.
