Current and scheduled closures
Bicentennial Bikeway - Brisbane City
Destination Brisbane Consortium will be upgrading more than one kilometre of riverfront between the Goodwill Bridge and Victoria Bridge for the Queen’s Wharf Brisbane development. Works include improving the Bicentennial Bikeway and construction of the Mangrove Walk, a new scenic walk over the river.
To enable this construction, from June-2018 to mid-2019 the Bicentennial Bikeway will be temporarily closed between the Goodwill Bridge and the area behind 1 William Street.
Bicentennial Bikeway users will be diverted along Gardens Point Road to connect between the Goodwill Bridge and Bicentennial Bikeway near Margaret Street.
For more information, visit the Queen’s Wharf Brisbane website.
Howard Smith Wharves - Fortitude Valley
Hutchinson Builders are undertaking the redevelopment of the Howard Smith Wharves project between the New Farm Riverwalk and Ivory Street from Thursday 1 June 2017 to Monday 31 December 2018.
During this time the shared pathway will remain open, but will be re-diverted at various stages through construction. There will be times of full closure and these will be separately applied for and notified to the public.
Signage will be placed at either end of the shared pathway and at interaction locations where workers and machinery cross the shared pathway.
Cyclists and pedestrians are advised to slow down and watch for workers and machinery throughout the duration of the Howard Smith Wharves precinct.

Bracken Ridge shared pathway closure
Due to ongoing pathway, a section of the shared pathway located alongside the northbound lanes of the Gateway Motorway, between Carl Place and John Fisher Drive, Bracken Ridge, will remain closed to all users until mid to late 2018.
This closure is required to allow construction of the realigned northbound motorway on and off-ramps to Depot Road, upgrades to existing noise barriers and construction of the new shared pathway in this area. For safety reasons, access to the pathway cannot be maintained during this work.
Signed diversions will be in place as required via Depot Road, Quinlan Street, Calogero Drive, Carl Place, Barrett Street, Denham Street and the pathway adjacent to St John Fisher Collage, joining John Fisher Drive.

A diversion route located alongside the Gateway Motorway, Cabbage Tree Creek and the Bicentennial Road interchange will remain in place for the duration of the pathway closure.
